Our story, our history and meet the team behind the tents!
Our Story
Sanctum Village has always felt like family, and thats because it’s our own family that make it happen each year!
Based on the edge of Pilton (the village where Glastonbury Festival is held) for more than 12 years, we operate our main business making Yurts with our family company, WoodSmoke Yurts.
We've been lucky enough to be part of the festival for many years, running workshops in the GreenCraft field, watching our children grow up in the festival fields, being inspired and learning through music, craft and performing arts.
After years of perfecting our Yurt making skills, we thought we'd push ourselves further to create a huge Yurt that we now use to make magical weddings throughout the UK with our other business. FireFly Yurts.
That huge Yurt was named the SkyBarn - the very same one you'll be enjoying breakfast in every day!
In 2023 we decided, with the very generous help of our farmer friend, to share some of this wonderful lifestyle with our amazing guests, setting up the very first camp.
We knew we wanted to offer more than just glamping, we wanted our guests to share in the beauty of the area, enjoy a relaxing break away and feel like part of the family while they're staying with us.
Encouraged by the success and amazing feedback from 2023, we decided to do it all again, adding a few more tents and yurts, the first version of the Nomadic spa and more homely touches to make the experience even more special.
We made lots of new friends from our lovely guests, many of which were returning from the year before.
2025 rolled round and we did it all over again! This was a year of growth and learning for us - we'd tried introducing "pitch your own" as part of our camp which caused a few tricky situations, and the camp had grown quite a lot more than in the previous years, which brought it's own challenges!
But we learned some great lessons, started making changes and planned out how to make Sanctum Village 2027 the best year yet!
2027 is going to be our best year yet. We've improved things, added things, but more importantly, taken things away that just weren't working. There's no pitch-your-own this time and there'll be less guests on site, helping us provide the personal service we're known for.
